I think this story was actually a bit funny, especially when Sam takes his stand against Frodo and says “I said NO!” It was an original idea which is actually plausible considering the circumstances they were in, and I could definitely picture Sam reacting this way after all he had been through.
The story should have been longer, and would probably also been better if the writer had spent a little more time on finishing the ending. But it was a creative and clever idea, and a funny alternative ending for the story.

"What If?"
Genre: Angst
This fan fiction also takes place within Mt. Doom, when Frodo is about to throw away the Ring. When Gollum tries to steal the Ring from Frodo, Frodo manages to grab Gollum by the leg and hurl him into the flames. Frodo then makes the decision to keep the Ring and is overwhelmed by the Rings evil power, and throws Sam into a boulder which makes him faint.
Sauron, the Dark Lord of evil, then makes his appearance and takes the Ring away from Frodo, which means Frodo's mission is failed. Frodo then wakes up in a cave, chained to a wall, with remorse for what he had done (both for not throwing the Ring, and for hurting Sam), and with a need for revenge. The story then ends with a cliffhanger, which hints that Frodo is planning to take Sauron down.
I think this story is well written, and could make the story of the Lord of the Rings even further. I also think the writer has captured the personality of both Frodo and Sam, and has made the appearance of Sauron very believable. This alternative ending would only be the beginning to a whole new chapter, and I would like to see how this version progresses.
This story takes place after the event at Mt. Doom, in”Elinduil”, which is a place neither mentioned in the books or films of the Lord of the Rings. The writer describes Elinduil as a place near the south of the Mirkwood border, where a group of Aragorn’s elvish friends lives.
In this fan fiction, the writer tells that in Mt. Doom, when Frodo and Gollum fights, Gollum wins and steals the Ring. Now, what’s left of the Fellowship, must find a way to find Gollum, and take the Ring back.
Although I think this is actually a plausible story, that Gollum manages to steal the Ring from Frodo at Mt. Doom, I feel it kind of rewinds the whole story back to the beginning. We would now have to go through chapters of finding the Ring, just so we could read more chapters of much of the same story we’ve read until now. The writer mentions that they can’t go back to Mt. Doom, because their army will not be able to draw the attention away from Mt. Doom long enough again. While this is actually true, what then will they do? If they try to hide the Ring from Sauron, the problem is not solved. When Frodo throws the Ring into the fires in the book (or the film), Sauron disappears completely. This will not happen if the Ring is only left under a stone, or thrown into the ocean. So if this had actually happened in the book, I guess the story would not have a good ending..

"The Lord Of The Rings The Alternate Ending"
Genre: Drama / Angst
This fan fictions alternate ending is that “the Fellowship” is defeated after the great battle for Middle Earth, and they have to hide surviving people and animals to six different caves around Middle Earth. These caves are not in the books or in the films. The “Fellowship” must now find a way to get freedom to Middle Earth again.
I find this story to be very unlikely, all though it’s a fan fiction and “everything can happen”. The writer states that Frodo in this fan fiction manages to “rid the ring of 90% of its power”, which he is not able to do. Frodo is just a simple hobbit, and doesn't have powers like that. And also I think the writer should be more precise when he says that “the Fellowship was defeated”. Not only is the Fellowship broken a long time ago, but defeat would mean that Sauron has got the Ring back. Frodo and Sam weren’t a part of the great battle, so therefore it would mean that Saurons allies somehow must have intercepted them on their way to Mt. Doom, and that would probably mean that they would have been dead now.
This story needs to be worked more on to make sense.

“My ending to lord of the rings”
Genre: Romance / Humor
This story is about after Sam and Frodo has thrown the Ring into Mt. Doom, Sam tells Frodo that he is going to ask Rosie to marry him. Frodo then tells Sam that he is in love with him and he shouldn’t marry her. Sam gets really happy and says that he also loves Frodo.. One year later they live together, and one day Sam gets pregnant, and the writer ends the story with “Hobbits really are strange creatures.”
This was an unexpected twist to the story I have to say. Not only the part where it turns out they’re gay, but also the part when Sam says he’s pregnant. When it said “One year later” I expected them to be married or something, but the pregnant part really came out of nowhere, which was funny. And it was especially funny when it ended the way it did. A nice fan fiction!
This fan fiction was about Frodo and Sam’s struggle up Mt. Doom. Frodo had fallen into a deep sleep, and Sam couldn’t wake him up. When he finally wakes up, they start the painful walk up the mountain.
This was a very well written story. The writer was very good at describing the setting they were in, and the emotions Frodo and Sam went through. It was almost as if I could feel the heat from the mountain, and feel my body weaken. The way he portrayed what Frodo and Sam looked like was also very precise, and I really felt the actuality of the relationship between them. The writer makes us understand that Frodo and Sam has been through a lot, and they have friendship unlike any others. It really fitted its genre.

"The Beginning of the End"
Genre: Angst
This fan fiction is about the story of how Sauron slowly recovered after the defeat of Isildur. Everyone thought he was dead, but he was not. His remains was carefully protected by his evil servants, until his "fea" found its way back to his body. After this, Sauron's evil spreads and corrupts those around him, and he begins to plan how to get the Ring back, and how to get his revenge.
I think this was a good and interesting story. The writer depicts the "evil side" of Middle Earth very well, and how Sauron gradually regains much of his power and need for revenge. The writer keeps it realistic according to the real story, and it could definitely be in a chapter of its own in a story about Sauron and his evil servants.

"The Breaking of the Fellowship"
Genre: Horror / Humor
This fan fiction takes place when the Fellowship first encounters the Uruk-Hai and orcs after their journey down the Great River Anduin. When this encounter occurs, each of them is brutally murdered by the orcs.
I didn't quite expect this story. Every member of the Fellowship gets killed! But if one would think of the real Tolkien story objectively, it would actually be pretty far fetched to think that so few of the Fellowship would die through this encounter. It would probably be more realistic to believe that the Fellowship of eight people; two men, one elf, one dwarf, and four hobbits; against that many orcs, would probably be killed! Their odds were very low. So in the writers defence, he is in my opinion probably more realistic than Tolkien in this matter.
The story is way too short. Every character of the Lord of the Rings, who we have gotten to know so well through the first book, is suddenly brutally murdered. It would be really bad if the writer would end it so quick, without genuinly describing their last minutes..

"My Return of the King Ending"
Genre: Humor / Drama
This fan fiction takes place when Frodo is about to leave to the Grey Havens, and is about to say his goodbyes to his friends. When Gandalf lets Frodo speak with Sam for the last time, Sam runs over to his pony, grabs a sack, and kidnappes Frodo. He runs away on his pony with Frodo, and they are never seen again.
This is a funny twist, although I think it's unlikely that Sam would do this to Frodo. Although they have become extremely good friends after all they have been through, Sam would never kidnap Frodo and never return when he has a wife and child at home. But it's a funny story, and a nicely written fan fiction.
Genre: Angst / Romance
